Hello, Regular Drews!
We're your hosts, Becky and Kori.
We first met when we were in 5th grade and quickly bonded over our mutual love of Nancy Drew. Becky initially had the idea for the podcast mid-pandemic, and the first episode of Regular Nancy Drew aired on March 5th, 2021.
In the episodes we've released since then, we've covered mysteries from each main Nancy Drew book series, played many of the PC games, and watched most of the on-screen adaptations featuring our favorite sleuth.
We release episodes in blocks of five, with each block featuring various mysteries from the same series or with a common theme. Every 25th episode, we do a deep-dive into the history of Nancy Drew. We also cover episodes of the 2019 CW Nancy Drew TV show in a bi-monthly series titled CW Chats.
On the first anniversary of the podcast, we launched Scoop Sesh!, a minisode series exclusive to our members. In our fifth year of podcasting, we also introduced a series of reaction videos to the 2019 CW Nancy Drew TV show, RND Watch.
Becky
Becky grew up reading her mom's old Original Text Mystery Stories and can remember frequently going to the library with her sister for any Nancy Drew book or game she could get her hands on. She currently lives in Vermont with her husband and two cats.
Kori
Kori was 8 years old when her mom introduced her and her sister to The Secret of the Old Clock. She was immediately hooked on the books, and once she discovered the PC games shortly thereafter, the rest of her Nancy Drew obsession was history. She lives in Texas with her two dogs.

Nancy Drew has been a pop culture mainstay for almost 100 years, and you don’t have to look hard to find references to our favorite sleuth in the media. The phrase, “well, aren’t you a Regular Nancy Drew?” is often used in TV or movies as a way of pointing out a given character’s sleuthy tendencies. Unfortunately, it is also used to dismiss or tease female characters, so we’re reclaiming the phrase. We want to celebrate Nancy Drew and attempt to emulate her best qualities in the face of those who might say we should aspire otherwise. We’re proud to call ourselves Regular Nancy Drews, and we hope you are, too.

Bess Marvin is our favorite character! She’s so fun and relatable, and we think it’s unfair that she’s the butt of so many jokes in the series. We started saying #TeamBess on the podcast in response to any situation in which Bess does something amazing or is treated poorly, and over time it’s become our catchphrase.

Our members choose for us! For each episode, we select three (typically random) mysteries that fit the theme of our current episode block, then our members vote for their favorite.

Yes; all episodes include a full summary of the mystery. While we try to save spoilers for the end of the episode, we do discuss the culprit and conclusion of every mystery we cover.

We’d love to! While our members ultimately choose each episode topic via a vote, we keep a running list of the titles our listeners most want to hear and try to include them in the vote when possible. Contact us to let us know what you want to hear the most.

We don’t use AI and believe it has no place in podcasting. All of our episodes, audiobooks, merch designs, videos, etc. were made without the use of artificial intelligence and always will be.

While plenty of our listeners tune in with their families or are adolescents themselves, this podcast is not specifically geared toward children. Profanity is used (although sparingly), and we often touch on topics and themes that may be too difficult or dark for a younger audience, such as racism, sexism, sexual assault, murder, eating disorders, etc. We make an effort to mark episodes with profanity as “explicit,” and include a content warning in the episode description when appropriate.
